Air Travel ~
The first leg of your journey typically includes air travel. Here are a few
insider tips you can follow to ensure the best air travel arrangements
possible...
Non-Stop Flights ~ Schedule non-stop
flights whenever possible, especially if you are traveling with infants or
small children. "Direct" flights typically can include multiple
take-offs and landings.
Check Your Baggage Restrictions ~
Most airlines allow you to check two bags and carry one on. We'll be glad to
give you the specifics on the airline you choose.
Seat Assignments ~ Select a seat
based on your personality and personal needs. Aisle seats offer quick access
and exits without disturbing others in your row. Window seats provide a view
and a side of the cabin's interior wall to rest your head against when
sleeping. We will request the seat assignment that best fits your needs.

You should decide whether you want to stay on the leeward
side of the island (with calm water) or the windward side (with waves) and
whether you want to stay right on the beach. This, of course, depends on the
specific island accommodations available on each island. Also, island
tradewinds offer natural cooling so air conditioning is not necessarily
available in all hotels...be sure to specifically request air conditioning
if it is important to you.

Our travel specialists know the best values in the islands and can assist
you in choosing the properties that best suit your needs and budget. Many
properties operate meal programs and all-inclusive amenities which are
convenient and affordable.

Perhaps the most relaxed and convenient way to tour this
beautiful part of the world is by cruising. It allows you the opportunity to
visit several islands in one trip rather than spending your entire vacation
on one island. Cruising offers total peace of mind since your itinerary is
set long before departure and the cost of your trip is known in advance. |

Most airlines allow two pieces of checked
baggage plus a carry-on without an additional charge. That should be ample,
since you'll only need lightweight clothing. Dress on the islands is light
and casual. Your best bet is loose-fitting clothing made of natural fabrics
to see you through the heat and humidity. A cover-up is advisable since the
sun is much stronger in the islands than you may be used to here at home.
And remember, always pack your prescriptions in your easily accessed
carry-on luggage. |

The Caribbean offers two seasons. High season costs more and
is during the winter months here in the United States (December 15 through
April 14) but it is the windiest time of year in the Caribbean. Prices drop
20%-50% after April 15. September, October and November are least crowded
but hotels are limited and some restaurants close during this period. There
is little difference in climate between the two seasons. Average year-round
temperatures range from 78 to 85 with the extremes ranging from 65 to 95. |
